Low Pressure
Also: Cyclonic, Convergence
Meteorological (weather) terms.
An area of counter-clockwise turning winds, low barometric pressure, and stormy weather. (In the Northern Hemisphere.) The geostrophic (high altitude) winds are nearly circular on a large scale, but surface friction causes an inward component to the circular motion. This is called "convergence."
