Rime

Supercooled water droplets which have frozen onto any surface (such as snow crystals, ski lift towers, rocks, trees,...). Or the process of freezing the droplets. Rime has a styrofoam appearance to it.
A dense fine-grained deposit built up from the freezing of super-cooled cloud droplets onto exposed objects, including snowflakes.
The process of rime ice forning on things is called riming.
