These are most of the spring recreational avalanche accident reports in our database which occured anywhere in the northern hemisphere. You need to be a member to read the reports but where an advisory is archived it is publicly available.
These are listed by activity and occured between April 15 and September 30, the year varies. The list was cleaned up by removing a few types of incidents - ski area avalanches, industrial accidents, one roof avalanche, and maybe a few others. Incidents from the southern hemisphere which were not during spring have been removed as well.
The conditions and factors behind these differ significantly from winter incidents. We have a special course for spring climbing which is also relevant to spring ski touring and ski mountaineering. To learn more about these spring avalanches, and how to avoid them, you can take that course.
We also have a table of just US avalanche accidents in spring.
