November 2004 - Seventh Annual Online Fundraising Auction Announced

October 12, 2004 - Credit Card Processing Problems and Changes

Credit Card Processing was down for about a month due to processing problems with iTransact and iPayment. Everything has now been transitioned to PayPal, which will now act as our merchant account/processor. PayPal does not require our customers to have an account with them in order to make a credit card payment, although one can easily be set up at the end of any transaction.

November 23, 2004 - Avalanche Safety Research Chair at University of Calgary

The office of the Honourable David L. Emerson, Minister of Industry, today announced federal funding of $673,700 over five years for the NSERC Research Chair in Snow Avalanche Risk Control at the University of Calgary.

November 20, 2004 - Norway to Test AvalHex for Highway safety

The National Higway Authority has acquired it's first avalanche releaser, to test the possibility of a more controlled release of the masses of snow which assemble above roads and villages.

September 2004 - Fraudulent Check Traced to Federal Employee

A fraudulent and harassing check encompassing at least two felonies and three midemeanors was traced in a police investigation to an employee of the National Park Service, formerly of the US Forest Service. No responsibility has been claimed, leaving another person with the computer IP number on the hook at this time. This remains an open issue at this time.
